The honeymoon is over. It's time to meet the folks. Shrek and Fiona travel to the remote kingdom of Far Far Away, sispicously like a certain movie town. When they arrive they are drawn into events in Far Far Away that have been going on since before Fiona was put in the tower and Shrek do not fit into those plans.

It shows that this movie was not based on a book, like the first one was. But it is still funny, quick and well animated. However, it is not a step up from the first one. In fact some things seem worse and like the first one they've failed to provide something that Pixar managed very nicely in The Incredibles: weight. Things have no weight in the Shrek universe.

But I'm nitpicky, it's still a good movie. You'll laugh and cheer, and maybe even feel sad a bit (for Morbo the big gingerbread man). The DVD has tons of extra material. Something other DVD makers should pick up upon.
